The quality of meat in South Africa is outstanding. Almost everywhere you get a nice steak, but some places you should experience yourself. This options should not really ranked, but we rank it because it is a way to have your steak like you want it.
# 5 buy some steaks at Greefs Butchery and make your own Braai on the Lagoon. Our # 4 is the Chocolate Beef Filet at the Cruise Café. On a sunny Sunday afternoon in the Garden of Blend Country Restaurant you can have a great Beef filet (which is our # 3). Remy told me once: “don’t send Vegetarians to us”. He has fantastic meat, fantastic prepare. Ask for the Cote de Beuf at our # 2 LeMaquis in Grey Street. But on the top of our list – with clear distance – is # 1 The Olive Tree in Main Street. If you can have an evening at Kilzers Kitchen and their famous “Cook & Look” (and if they have steak that evening) then this would be our “guests choice special award”.
