Pear and Blue Cheese Glass

The Garden Route and Knysna is famous for … well, everything that grows in the garden. Like fruits and veggies – and of course pears. A nice dish we use from time to time at Candlewoods breakfast is a kind of a salad with pears, spinach and Blue cheese. You will love the healthy dish!

  • Plain yoghurt 200g
  • Organic pears 2, medium sized
  • Baby spinach 500g
  • Pomegranate seeds 200g
  • Blue cheese 100g
  • Walnuts 50g
  • Cinnamon stick 1
  • Fresh milk 100ml
  • Butter 1 T
  • Honey 1 T

1. Melt butter in a saucepan and add the cinnamon stick, allowing the mixture
to caramelise.
2. Cut pears into wheels and sauté in the butter mix until brown and
allow to cool.
3. In a glass, layer pears, spinach and pomegranate and sprinkle walnuts
and blue cheese on top.
4. In a mixing bowl blend together yogurt, honey & milk into a dressing
and season with salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the Pear and
Blue Cheese Glass and serve.
